My Car: 2006 Scion XB
(2006 Model now has Steering wheel controls 04-05 did not)
Initial Impressions:
When it arrived i was very excited but didn't have time to install immediadtly as my car pc is currently not totally installed. The other day however I found time to test the interface with my radio and carpc.
Software Installation:
Very Simple Point click and installed the winamp plugin
NOTE: I installed this but im not sure if its even required with the newest Roadrunner build (It's integrated)
Hardware Installation:
Very Straightfoward place the plug that was supplied into the missing space on the factory deck
Connect the USB and headphone 1/8 jack to the soundcard (NOTE: Scions have a factory Aux 1/8 jack and I foolishly assumed this is where the 1/8 jack should go) Not to say it doesnt work just that when you change to AUX on the headunit you just cant change the songs any longer as its no longer in cd changer mode...
Suggestions:
Mp3 text on the headunit would be really nice rather than "1-34" and so on I know scions (pioneers) headunits can display this off of mp3 cds
Overall rating:
9.5 out of 10
Recommended:
Definately- If your looking for a great way to get the sound and functions of your pc into your stock headunit this is the thing for you. My car is now the ultimate stealth install as my LCD screen is hidden away. Now all it loks like i have is a stock Scion Deck but I have a ful blown carpc and no prying eyes can tell the difference
