Review: 2006 Honda Accord

Car: 2006 Honda Accord with build-in changer

As you can see on the picture, my car pc install is not done yet. The screen bezel is still under fabrication. The entire tests reviewed here were tested with a laptop that will actually be my car pc.

Product:

The adapter looks very durable, small and light.

Installation to the car:

I removed the big compartment on my car to get to the aux port; the installation went easy and without problem. Next test, I turned the head unit to on and tried to switch to aux, no luck. No sound coming out from the head unit either. I contacted car2pc.com and they suggested me to wired the green wire to the black one (ground). Second test, I pushed the aux/cd button on my head unit, taa daaaaa! MDC showed up, sounds started to come out from the car speaker too.

Installation to the computer:

I plugged the USB cable to the laptop, it detected the adapter as car2pc – HU or something like that. Put in the small driver cd and installed it. I also install the plugin for winamp since I use roadrunner as frontend. First test, I opened road runner, played music and tried to press next, previous, tune, all working fines! The only problem I got was when I am on random mode, the computer hang up after several minutes. I really don’t think it’s because of car2pc since I don’t have time to test it again.

Pros:

An excellent HU + car pc integration, steering wheel control button is working.

Cons:

Sound quality is not that good, too sharp for me. I tried audigy 2zs and the notebook onboard audio card, same problem. I haven’t tried anything to solve this. It might be just a simple problem with the sound card setting.

Conclusion:

This is definitely the answer for HU and car pc integration. I love this product.
